2027 CHA Annual Awards | Now Open for Submissions

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) is pleased to announce that the 2027 CHA Annual Awards are open for submissions. Hospitals and health systems are invited to submit entries for the 2027 Connecticut’s Hospital Community Service Award and the 2027 John D. Thompson Award for Excellence in the Delivery of Healthcare Through the Use of Data through Wednesday, January 13, 2027. The judging process will take place during the winter, and winners will be honored at the CHA Annual Meeting on June 17, 2027.

Entries are being accepted through the CHA website. Entrants must be logged in to their CHA account to access the award submission webpages, which are linked below. For instructions on how to set up an account if you have not yet, click here.

• The Community Service Award, presented jointly by CHA and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), recognizes a hospital or health system that has made an outstanding contribution to its community, particularly for a program or service targeted toward a specific segment of a hospital or healthcare system’s community. Click here to view the Community Service Award submission page and entry form.
• The John D. Thompson Award is administered by CHA’s Connecticut Healthcare Research and Education Foundation (CHREF) and honors the contributions made by John D. Thompson to healthcare administration and patient care quality during his career. It is awarded annually to recognize exceptional hospital initiatives and teams that have achieved excellence in patient care through the use of data, as demonstrated by the improvement of internal operations, procedures, and outcomes. The submission deadline for both awards is Wednesday, January 13, 2027.

Information on the 2027 Healthcare Heroes Award will be shared in January 2027.
