
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston this week joined hospital leaders from across Connecticut for a roundtable discussion at the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) on the economic challenges and opportunities facing hospitals and health systems. Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Susan M. Collins participated in the conversation, which explored inflation pressures, healthcare labor market trends, the long-term financial sustainability of hospitals, and how the Fed can support economic conditions favorable to growing patient access and world-class clinical care.
Connecticut hospital leaders in attendance included CHA Board of Trustees Chairman Jeffrey Flaks, president and CEO, Hartford HealthCare; CHA Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Kathy Silard, president and CEO, Stamford Health; Kurt Barwis, president and CEO, Bristol Health; Bob Duncan, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Connecticut Children’s; Kyle Kramer, chief executive officer, Day Kimball Health; Michelle Robertson, market president, Northwell Health; Robert Roose, MD, president of acute care, Trinity Health Of New England; and Arnim Dontes, executive vice president/chief financial officer, Yale New Haven Health.
