CHA Director of Regulatory Advocacy Marielle Daniels and American School for the Deaf (ASD) Executive Director Jeff Bravin sat down with NBC Connecticut to discuss their partnership and release of a new healthcare training video to improve communication access for deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind patients across Connecticut.
During the NBC interview, Bravin and Daniels explained how this tool advances ongoing statewide efforts to eliminate barriers to care for deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind communities. The training video addresses the importance of communicating directly with deaf patients and taking time to learn and implement the approach that meets the needs of each individual. The video is part of ASD’s ongoing Lost in Translation campaign.
