The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) is pleased to announce the winners of 2025 Connecticut’s Hospital Community Service Award and the 2025 John D. Thompson Award for Excellence in the Delivery of Healthcare Through the Use of Data.
The winners of these prestigious awards are as follows:
Connecticut’s Hospital Community Service Award:
- Bridgeport Hospital’s Family Bridge Program
John D. Thompson Award (Tied Score):
- Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center’s Initiative To Decrease In-Hospital Mortality Rates for PCI Patients
- Stamford Health’s Comprehensive Preoperative Optimization Program
These awards will be presented at the CHA Annual Meeting on June 17, 2025. Also at the Annual Meeting, CHA will present the 2025 Healthcare Heroes Award to a cohort of heroes from hospitals across the state.
The keynote speaker for this year’s Annual Meeting is WNBA All-Star and championship-winning college basketball player Rebecca Lobo. As team captain her senior year, Lobo led the University of Connecticut to a perfect season in 1995. Lobo has been actively involved in the community with various philanthropic endeavors, including founding the RuthAnn and Rebecca Lobo Scholarship in Allied Health at UConn. She has served on UConn’s Board of Trustees since 2004 and previously served on Hartford Hospital’s Board of Directors. Read Lobo’s full biography here.
CHA’s 2025 Annual Meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 17, from 3:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Century Ballroom at the Bristol Event Center. This year’s theme is Celebrating Healing and Hope.
