Elevating Excellence: Award Winners To Be Honored at Connecticut Hospital Association’s Annual Event Next Week


The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) is excited to convene CHA members and partners, including hundreds of hospital leaders and medical professionals, from across the state at the 2026 CHA Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 11.  At the event, CHA will proudly present multiple prestigious awards.  The awards are as follows:

  • Backus and Windham Hospitals are the recipients of the 2026 Connecticut’s Hospital Community Service Award for the joint Community Health Case Management Program
  • Yale New Haven Hospital is the recipient of the 2026 John D. Thompson Award for Excellence in the Delivery of Healthcare Through the Use of Data for its High-Risk Patient MRSA Prevention Initiative
  • John Murphy, MD, is the recipient of the 2026 T. Stewart Hamilton, MD, Distinguished Service Award to honor his decades of leadership, advocacy, and service to healthcare in Connecticut
  • Grace Napolitan is the recipient of the Service in Pursuit of Excellence Award in recognition of her extraordinary dedication, leadership, and service to healthcare in Connecticut
  • CHA will again recognize a cohort of exceptional hospital employees with the 2026 Healthcare Heroes Award

This year’s Annual Meeting theme, Elevating Excellence, is both a celebration of the world-class care delivered in Connecticut hospitals and a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to do even better for this generation and the next.

The keynote speaker for this year’s event is David Pogue, a New York Times bestselling author, beloved CBS Sunday Morning correspondent, NOVA host on PBS, and New York Times contributor.  As the go-to expert on innovative tech and science in a fast-changing world, Pogue provides invaluable insights on how technology impacts our health, work, businesses, society, and connections with each other — now and into the future.

CHA’s 2026 Annual Meeting, a members-only event, takes place on Thursday, June 11, from 3:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., in the Century Ballroom of the Bristol Event Center.
