Opinion: Want to stop homelessness? End it before it starts

Mary, like many across Connecticut, has struggled with the skyrocketing cost of living. At one point, she was on the brink of homelessness — but thankfully, she was able to benefit from short-term financial assistance provided by the United Way of Greater Waterbury Flexible Assistance Fund that allowed her to regain control of her finances, and begin building a more stable future.
