Legislators approve increased spending on smoking cessation programs

During a joint meeting of the Appropriations and Public Health committees Monday morning, lawmakers approved over $14 million to be spent supporting smoking cessation programs in the state. The sum was described as Connecticut’s largest allocation to date for fighting nicotine addiction.
