NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — June is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.

The disease is getting new attention after former ABC 7 New York anchor Bill Ritter opened up on Good Morning America about his early-stage alzheimer’s diagnosis and his decision to step away from the anchor desk.

Dr. Carolyn Fredericks, Yale Medicine neurologist and assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine, joined Good Morning Connecticut at 9 a.m. to discuss.
