CHA Issue-Based Forum: New HRSA/CMS Organ Procurement Reporting Requirements

Beginning October 1, 2026, the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is implementing changes to the quality and regulatory reporting requirements for organ procurement organizations (OPOs).
Join the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) and New England Donor Services (NEDS) for a virtual issue-based forum to learn more about these changes and how they will impact hospitals.
Who Should Attend:
While all employees of CHA member organizations are invited to attend this virtual issue-based forum, those who work in the following areas are encouraged to participate: patient care, patient representatives, spiritual care, social work, compliance, risk, and in-house counsel.

PROUD | Know Your Role: An Overview of CAPTA and Family Care Plans for Hospital Providers

Delivered by the Substance Exposed Pregnancy Initiative of Connecticut (SEPI-CT), this interactive in-person workshop wraps up the 2026 Parents Recovering from Opioid and Other Use Disorders (PROUD) Summer Series, themed Strengthening Care for Parents in Recovery.
Training Objectives:
- Learn Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) and Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) legislative requirements
- How to develop Family Care Plans (FCPs; formerly known as “Plans of Safe Care”)
- Learn how to implement your role to support CAPTA and FCPs
- Identify resources available for clients, patients, and providers
- Learn about SEPI-CT
Federal and Connecticut legislative mandates require Connecticut hospitals and health systems to implement CAPTA and FCPs. It is critical that hospital staff who work with pregnant and/or parenting individuals who have had substance exposed pregnancies understand their respective roles.
This training is intended for: OBGYN, psychiatry, nursing, social work, and mental health professionals
Participants are eligible to receive 1.5 continuing education credits (CECs) through the CT National Association of Social Workers and 1.5 Contact Hours through the CT Certification Board.
