CT activates extreme hot weather protocol starting Thursday

With weather forecasts calling for hot and humid conditions most of this week, Gov. Ned Lamont has activated the state’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol, effective at 10 a.m. on Thursday and continuing until 6 p.m. Sunday.

While the protocol is enacted, a system is set up for state agencies, municipalities, and other partners to coordinate with United Way 2-1-1 to make sure that information regarding cooling centers is available statewide, providing a location for those in need of relief.
