Hospital Community Benefit Advocacy Day Returns to State Capitol

At the upcoming second annual Hospital Community Benefit Advocacy Day at the State Capitol, Connecticut hospitals and health systems will showcase some of the many ways they collaborate with local partners to connect individuals and families with vital resources and services, where and when they need them.

On Thursday, April 30, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., legislators, state officials, and stakeholders are encouraged to visit the Connecticut Hospital Association’s (CHA) expo-style event to learn about joint programs and initiatives that local hospitals and partners have developed and deployed together.  Community benefit programs, which encompass a wide range of services, are expanding access to stable housing, nutritious food, reliable transportation, diaper supplies, preventive health screenings, and steady employment — removing barriers and reducing disparities that lead to poor health and clinical outcomes.

In 2025, Connecticut hospitals contributed $3.74 billion in community investments, including free and discounted care, wellness education, research programs, charitable donations, and more.

Hospital participation in the advocacy day is encouraged and is being coordinated through hospital and health system government relations teams.  For more information about participating in the event, contact buckley@chime.org or rall@chime.org.
