The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter is offering several opportunities for free education and information to those caring for an individual diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, as well as those who want to learn more about brain health. In Connecticut, nearly 80,000 people live with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, and another 130,000 caregivers provide unpaid support.
- Awareness Presentations are short, 15-minute overviews of the Alzheimer’s Association and the free support the organization provides; guest speakers are available for regularly scheduled association/organization meetings either in person or virtually
- Education Programs for all member organizations and the public are usually about 60 minutes and can be presented either in person or virtually; programs cover a range of topics, including 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s, Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body as well as caregiving specific topics such as Foundations of Caregiving, Supporting Independence and Communicating Effectively
