Waterbury restores water service to hospitals but restaurants remain shut down, schools day-to-day

As the city continues working to fully restore water service following a massive water main break Friday, work crews are making progress, according to Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr.

Both Waterbury and St. Mary hospitals are operating with full water capacity and service has been restored to the west side of the city and Watertown, while much of downtown Waterbury continues to receive water from a 12-inch gravity-fed line, Pernerewski said.
