Happening next week, the Connecticut Hospital Association’s (CHA) second annual Hospital Community Benefit Advocacy Day at the State Capitol will spotlight how Connecticut hospitals and health systems are making a meaningful impact in communities across the state — working hand in hand with local organizations to promote prosperity, improve health outcomes, and strengthen the healthcare safety net.
On Thursday, April 30, legislators, state officials, stakeholders, and the public are invited to stop by the expo-style event in the Nathan Hale Statue area on the east side of the Capitol building’s first floor. Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., hospitals and their partners will be distributing informational materials, conducting free screenings, and providing giveaways to raise awareness about hospital initiatives that support community health. From nutrition counseling, to behavioral health treatment, to urgent care in underserved communities, these collaborative programs and initiatives are expanding access to vital services, supplying basic necessities, and educating patients and providers.
