“This year marked a record-breaking milestone for Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s, with $400,000 raised to support people living with Parkinson’s disease,” according to organizers.
“Since the event began in 2018, Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s has raised more than $1.2 million to support people living with Parkinson’s disease, with attendance growing from 200 guests to 600 and fundraising increasing from $95,000 to $400,000 this year.”
The event featured celebrity dancers competing “for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy by performing with professional dance partners from ‘Ballroom Fever’ and ‘Make a Step’ studios,” according to a statement.
“A special highlight was a 48-year-old patient who was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease five years ago who shared his personal journey before taking the dance floor himself, serving as a reminder of why this event is so important,” the statement went on to say.
