Lawmakers considering rules for chatbots, facial recognition technology

The legislature’s General Law Committee is once again looking to reign in artificial intelligence, advancing two of what could be several bills putting checks on technology.

The committee voted Wednesday to draft legislation around consumer privacy and online safety, meaning nonpartisan staff will now write language for the bills.
