Workers have several new protections after Gov. Ned Lamont signed Public Act 26-12 into law May 11. The new law is a sweeping omnibus bill known as House Bill 5003 that was approved by the General Assembly with bipartisan support.
Among its 75 sections of new laws are provisions addressing wage theft in the building trades, job protections for services workers, compensation for workers assaulted on the job, including nurses and teachers, and requirements for employers to disclose position wage ranges and general benefits descriptions in job postings.
