CT wins gender-affirming care case

HARTFORD, CT— Attorney General William Tong, amongst other state attorneys general, secured a long-awaited victory after a Massachusetts federal court overruled a federal law excluding gender-affirming care from the health benefits covered by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This decision comes shortly after Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) reached a settlement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to stop providing gender-affirming care to minors.
