FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) – Health officials and state leaders planned to break down the impact of federal cuts to public health services.

A news conference was set for 11:30 at UConn Health in Farmington.

Gov. Ned Lamont said he planned to join state and local health officials to discuss the sudden termination of federal public health grants.

This week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services notified state public health departments, including the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, that it will be terminating roughly $11.4 billion in grants that had already been allocated to state and local health departments.
