Connecticut hospitals feeling the strain amid second-ever nationwide blood crisis

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut healthcare experts and volunteers are stepping in to help address the need for blood as a nationwide shortage continues.

The American Red Cross says blood donations across the country have fallen to a four-year summer low. This is only the second time in the organization’s history that nationwide blood supply levels have been this low.
