A recent audit of the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services has identified several internal control deficiencies and noncompliance with laws and regulations, including missing timesheets, performance evaluations and overtime request forms.
The audit, conducted by the state Auditors of Public Accounts for fiscal years ending in June 2021 and 2022, also found a lack of supporting documents for purchasing card transactions and recommended the department strengthen internal controls and management oversight.
