Connecticut will get $64 million from Purdue Pharma opioid settlement

When Purdue Pharma dissolved on Friday, and its bankruptcy ended, a $7.4 billion settlement agreed upon between a coalition of attorneys general and the company’s owners went into effect.

The coalition’s settlement with Purdue and the Sackler family resolves thousands of lawsuits alleging that the company aggressively overmarketed OxyContin, a highly addictive pain killer.
