Northeastern Connecticut’s only hospital could join UConn Health network under pending legislation

PUTNAM, Conn. (WFSB) – Day Kimball Hospital, northeastern Connecticut’s only hospital, could be acquired by UConn Health if legislation gets passed during the current special session, offering hope for continued healthcare services in the region’s rural communities.

The small rural hospital has been trying to secure an affiliation for years, and after many failed deals, officials see the potential UConn Health partnership as crucial for survival.
