Connecticut Hospitals Discuss Federal Advocacy With Congressional Delegation, Attend AHA Annual Meeting in D.C.

This week, representatives from Connecticut hospitals convened in the nation’s capital to participate in the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Annual Membership Meeting and meet with members of Connecticut’s congressional delegation to advance hospitals’ federal advocacy priorities.

More than 1,100 hospital and health system leaders gathered at the 2025 AHA Annual Membership Meeting to discuss advocacy, regulatory, and legislative issues affecting the nation’s hospitals, patients, and communities.  The event featured insightful conversations with policymakers, legislators, and thought leaders on the most pressing issues facing the healthcare field, including protecting key programs such as Medicaid, rejecting so-called site-neutral payments, preserving the 340B program, and extending the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits that enable millions of Americans to buy affordable private health insurance.

A team of Connecticut hospital representatives — from the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA), Bristol Health, Hartford HealthCare, Stamford Health, Trinity Health Of New England, and Yale New Haven Health — also met with U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy as well as U.S. Representatives Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, and John Larson.

CHA has developed a comprehensive fact sheet detailing Connecticut hospitals’ and health systems’ federal advocacy priorities, available to download here.
