Federal H.R. 1 and DSS Benefits: Resources for Patients, Providers, and Communities

Connecticut hospitals continue to collaborate with state agencies and community partners to help patients and healthcare providers prepare for and navigate federal changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid (HUSKY Health) eligibility requirements.  The Department of Social Services (DSS) has published several resources on its website with information regarding current and anticipated impacts to DSS supports and services as a result of H.R. 1.  The state will continue to share resources as more information from the federal government becomes available.

Resources available on the DSS website include:

  • Webpage summarizing the impacts of H.R. 1 on SNAP and Medicaid, linked here
  • Information for providers and stakeholders, linked here
  • Information for patients, linked here

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) continues to engage the state, local hospitals, and communities to develop educational materials for providers and patients and amplify communications to reach those individuals at risk of losing benefits.
