Community and Youth Leaders Convene for Governor’s Prevention Partnership Sustainability Summit

On Wednesday, December 4, the Governor’s Prevention Partnership held its Sustainability Summit at the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) in Wallingford.  The summit convenes providers, youth-serving organizations, substance use prevention partners, and mentorship collaboratives.

Keynote speaker Christopher M. Jones led a comprehensive overview of the Connecticut Fatherhood Initiative, providing valuable insights on youth and community supports.  Special guest Dr. William Clark guided roundtable discussions on nonprofit sustainability, fundraising, and strategic planning to optimize organizations’ performance and financial health.

For more than 30 years, the Governor’s Prevention Partnership has been building statewide capacity to prevent underage drinking and substance use and strengthening strategic alliances to promote the overall well-being of Connecticut’s future workforce.  The organization, which serves all 169 communities in the state, was co-founded in 1989 by Governor William O’Neill as a public-private initiative dedicated to leveraging business and government resources to support Connecticut’s youth.
