The Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Connecticut healthcare professionals to register for two free upcoming virtual train-the-trainer courses on Person-Centered Dementia Care. The Alzheimer’s Association has been awarded funding from a BOLD grant through the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) to provide a limited number of complimentary registrations.
Each educational program is delivered in two sessions on two days from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and Thursday, November 6, 2025
- Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and Thursday, February 19, 2026
The curriculum is a train-the-trainer model created to prepare attendees who are already familiar with Alzheimer’s and dementia care to train direct-care staff in a wide range of residential and community-based care settings. The seven-hour virtual training teaches attendees how to deliver the 13-hour curriculum based on the person-centered model of Habilitation Therapy. Habilitation Therapy is a person-centered care model that focuses on five areas of a person’s life that can promote positive emotions and optimal functioning.
Registrations are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact ctchapter@alz.org to request a complimentary code.
