Kyle Ballou Awarded AHA’s Grassroots Champion Award

On Thursday, August 15, Kyle Ballou, Yale New Haven Health’s Vice President of Community and Government Relations, received the American Hospital Association’s Grassroots Champion Award.

In receiving the award, Ballou is recognized with other hospital leaders from across the country who most effectively educate local, state, and national elected officials, policymakers, and other advocates on major issues affecting their hospital or health system’s vital role in the community.  The award recognizes those who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for their hospital or health system and who tirelessly advocate for their hospital or health system and its patients.

Jim Iacobellis, senior vice president of legislative and regulatory advocacy at the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA), cited Ballou’s years of work building and executing an advocacy program that has helped to inform and influence state healthcare policy.  Throughout her career, Ballou has cultivated relationships with state lawmakers to promote efforts that support high-quality, equitable healthcare — work vital to advancing the mission of all Connecticut hospitals and health systems.

CHA congratulates Ballou on this award and celebrates her achievements.
