Visitation Rights, Policies, and Best Practices

CHA invites its members to a virtual meeting on hospital visitation regulations, policies, and best practices.  Attorney Jennifer Cox, Cox & Osowiecki, will provide an overview of the federal Conditions of Participation outlining the minimum requirements for hospitals’ visitation practices and policies.  Cox will be joined by Kerry A. Milner, DNSc, APRN, FNP-BC, EBP-CH, a local professor of nursing and nurse scientist, who will discuss research findings in this area, and by a patient’s family member who will share her firsthand experience with barriers to visitation in an inpatient care setting.

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) are hosting a conference to wrap up the six-part webinar series PROUD: Trauma-Informed Care, which was held during the summer of 2025.  This event brings together thought leadership and practical insight to address the intersection of socio-economic harm, substance use, and maternal health through the lens of trauma-responsive care.  Continuing education (CE) credits are pending approval.

2025 CHA Regulatory Compliance Conference

As the regulatory landscape evolves with significant uncertainty at both state and federal levels, hospital staff face new political realities, challenges, and demands to ensure awareness and effective compliance.  The 2025 CHA Regulatory Compliance Conference is designed to address these uncertainties and provide actionable guidance for moving forward.  Featured sessions will cover a range of critical topics, including: an overview of the legal landscape in Connecticut, AI governance in healthcare, reporting fraud and abuse to the hospital board, and integrating compliance programs in newly acquired or expanding organizations.

Target Audience: This interdisciplinary conference will update members who work in legal, risk, security, and compliance areas within the organization.
