A new state-funded website called WeAreCT serves as a one-stop shop for dozens of behavioral health resources. The site is a joint initiative between the Connecticut Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and Children and Families (DCF) to aggregate the state’s crisis intervention, suicide prevention, substance use treatment, family caregiver and support, and other programs and services in one easy-to-use environment.
The site is an online tool that enables users to navigate a vast network of resources, including DMHAS’s regional services directory and inpatient bed availability. Users can also search for programs and support by categories, such as children/families, older adults, communities of color, LGBTQIA+, military/veterans, people with disabilities, and more. Live links to the 211 community support services, 988 suicide and crisis, and child abuse and neglect hotlines are also available.
The goal of the initiative is to increase access to behavioral healthcare, addressing individuals’ immediate and future needs.
