WEEKLY UPDATE: 03/20/25
As required by law, the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has distributed educational materials to all birthing hospitals regarding intimate partner violence toward pregnant and postpartum patients.
DPH is mandated to provide these educational materials per PA 24-81, An Act Concerning Allocations Of Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds And Provisions Related To General Government, Human Services, Education And The Biennium Ending June 30, 2025. The bill requires DPH to develop educational materials on intimate partner violence toward pregnant and postpartum people and requires DPH to distribute the educational materials to certain healthcare providers and facilities to give to patients.
All birthing hospitals received a box of paper flyers for distribution. The flyers are available in several languages.
The materials will also soon be available on the DPH Maternal Mortality Review Program website.
