As the issue of affordability, including healthcare affordability, dominates discussions at the State Capitol and on Capitol Hill, the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) continues to advocate for solutions that address the underlying factors driving the cost of care. They include, but are not limited to, burdensome commercial insurance practices, steadily rising prescription drug prices, and chronic Medicaid and Medicare underpayment.
To help educate patients and policymakers about the massive financial pressures hospitals face, the American Hospital Association (AHA) has developed a series of videos featuring clinicians answering consumers’ common questions about healthcare affordability and medical costs. The clinicians explain insurance billing, price transparency, facility fees, and more.
