Nurse Licensure Compact – 11/13/25

November 13, 2025 @ 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Free

The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) implemented the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) in Connecticut effective October 1, 2025.

Through the compact, nurses licensed in their home state can practice in any compact state without obtaining additional licenses.  This change will have implications for nurses employed in Connecticut who live in other compact states, which include Rhode Island, soon Massachusetts, and 40 other states.

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) will host an issue-based forum with DPH to provide members with more information about the compact and answer questions.  DPH will review how the compact works, its benefits, how nurses can apply, and what employers need to know.

This session will be presented by:

  • Dana Dalton, RN, supervising nurse consultant for the DPH’s Healthcare Quality and Safety/Practitioner Licensing and Investigations/Practitioner Investigations Unit
  • Carter Johnson, principal at Ethical Influence, a public relations and community outreach consultant who is working with DPH to help educate nurses, employers, and learning institutions about the Nurse Licensure Compact

This forum will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. via Zoom. and is only open to CHA members. This presentation will be recorded for future member viewing.

To register, please log in to your CHA account by clicking “Member Login” in the top right of your screen. You will then have access to the ticket below.
