HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut youth are among the safest in the country when it comes to alcohol, according to a recent study.
The report, compiled by the California-based Steve Gimblin Personal Injury and Car Accident Lawyers, showed Connecticut with 3.23 alcohol-attributable deaths per 100,000 people under age 21 from 2020-21. The study, which used state-level data from for individuals under age 21 from 2020 to 2021 using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Alcohol-Related Disease Impact (ARDI) database, also factored in years of potential life lost per 100,000 residents under 21. Connecticut lost 187 years of potential life per 100,000, the study showed.
