Lamont staffer announces run for State Senate seat

FAIRFIELD, CT — The race to succeed retiring state Sen. Tony Hwang in the 28th District is officially on, with Rob Blanchard, who lost to Hwang in 2024, announcing his campaign the day after Hwang stated his intention not to run again.

Blanchard joins Newtown Republican Board of Finance member Amybeth Laroche and Fairfield Democrat Dave Rock, a member of that town’s Board of Finance, as contenders for the seat.
