The prospect of new regulations on artificial intelligence has been a hot topic at the Connecticut General Assembly for years, but advocates hope a new approach this year will finally generate results.

At the core of the debate is a fundamental tension: giving industry enough space to innovate with the emerging technology while protecting the privacy, intellectual property and civil rights of state residents.
