DCF audit highlights risks of foster care

Connecticut’s state auditors say the state Department of Children and Families recorded more than 600 children under the age of 18 that accounted for 3,736 individual instances of a child missing from the care in fiscal years 2021 through 2023, according to its latest audit released Wednesday.
