CT organization works to make child birth safer amid elevated dangers

Connecticut ranks in the bottom half of states for life-threatening complications during childbirth, according to the Connecticut Health Foundation, but health leaders say new efforts are underway to address the problem.

While Connecticut often ranks among the top states for overall health outcomes, it lags behind in maternal health. Tiffany Donelson, president of the Connecticut Health Foundation, said the state ranks 35th for severe maternal morbidity.
