CT offers a ‘miraculous’ stroke treatment. A proposal would provide it to vets

State lawmakers are looking to establish a program at the University of Connecticut, where 10 veterans will be able to undergo neuromodulation treatment for free and physicians will conduct further research to improve the effectiveness of the treatment.

The $55.7 billion two-year budget adopted by the legislature’s Appropriations Committee on Tuesday includes $2 million in fiscal year 2027 to establish a Center of Excellence for Neuromodulation Treatment at UConn.
