Court rules Leapfrog hospital safety grades ‘deceptive,’ orders removal of Tenet ratings

A federal judge in Florida has sided with Tenet Healthcare in its lawsuit against Leapfrog, a nonprofit group that issues grades to hospitals that purport to measure the quality of care delivery, pricing transparency and patient safety records. Five of the health system’s hospitals in South Florida took issue with the methodology associated with the scoring, filing a civil lawsuit in April 2025.
