Connecticut officials urge residents to sign up for CT Alert emergency notification system

As tropical storm activity increases in the Atlantic Ocean, now is the time for Connecticut residents to sign up for the CT Alert emergency notification system.

The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection issued a release on Friday urging more people living in the state to subscribe to the free alert system.

More than 5,000 residents signed up for CT Alert over the past month, bringing the total to nearly 226,000 people who are subscribed to the free alert system.
