Connecticut Attorney General reminds hospitals they must provide emergency abortion care

HARTFORD, Connecticut — Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is working to ensure that hospitals fulfill their obligation of providing emergency access to abortion care.

Tong announced Thursday that he joined a coalition of 22 attorneys general, which sent a letter to the American Hospital Association as a reminder that hospitals must comply with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, or EMTALA.
