State Attorney General William Tong announced Wednesday he will seek re-election to a third term.

In a news release, Tong said he will focus on his record over eight years. He also touts his bipartisan leadership nationally, noting that in December he was elected president of the National Association of Attorneys General.

In a short video released by his campaign, Tong highlights his record, including battling the state’s utilities to stop $700 million in rate increases, his fight against the opioid and addiction industry that secured $50 billion for treatment and prevention nationwide and the more than 50 lawsuits he has filed against President Trump.

Tong was first elected Attorney General in 2018. Previously, he was in private practice for 18 years as a litigator in both state and federal court.
