Lawmakers consider bill to expand vaccine access, allow state to purchase directly from drug companies

Connecticut’s Public Health Committee is expected to vote on a bill that would expand vaccine access in the state, a move Senate Democrats say is necessary following federal reductions to recommended vaccines for adults and children under the Trump administration.

The legislation would allow the state to purchase vaccines directly from pharmaceutical companies, rather than exclusively through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
