Medical Diagnostic Equipment Accessibility For Persons With A Disability – 9/18
September 18, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
FreeFor a number of years, CHA has been engaged with patients and advocates in discussions about medical diagnostic equipment (MDE) accessibility requirements for persons with a disability. CHA committed to these discussions to improve patient care and the experience for patients. This issue-based forum is another step in a shared goal of improving outcomes and experiences within hospital and healthcare systems.
CHA invites its members to a virtual webinar on MDE accessibility requirements for persons with a disability. Attorney Stephen Cowherd, Pullman & Comley, will review the state and federal laws and how they intersect, and walk through best practices for how providers can operationalize the various accessibility standards. Attorney Cowherd will specifically focus on a new Connecticut law that hospitals must implement soon. There will also be presentations from advocates for persons with disabilities.
This meeting will include:
- Patient stories regarding the impact of these regulations
- A detailed overview of hospital/provider obligations
- Suggestions for implementation
- Checklist level information about the steps, policies, and documentation needed to comply
- How exemptions, exclusions, or exceptions would apply (with reference to federal law)
This virtual meeting will be held on Thursday, September 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and is only open to CHA members. This presentation will be recorded for future member viewing.
