Former State Senator Mary Daugherty Abrams Passes

It was announced on Thursday, January 2, that former State Senator Mary Daugherty Abrams (D-Meriden) passed away after a three-year battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.  A special education teacher and school administrator, Sen. Abrams served a single term in the State Senate representing the residents of Cheshire, Meriden, Middletown, and Middlefield. 

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) worked closely with Sen. Abrams in her capacity as Senate Chair of the Public Health Committee during the 2020-2022 Legislative Sessions and will always remember her willingness to discuss and work on issues impacting hospitals, healthcare, and her constituents.

CHA extends its sympathy to Sen. Abrams’s family, friends, and former colleagues.
