Nation Observes Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

On Monday, January 20, the nation honored the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who challenged injustices at every level of American society, including in healthcare.

Connecticut hospitals and health systems recognize the ongoing work needed to create a healthcare system that is truly equitable and accessible for all.  Deeply entrenched disparities continue to impact health outcomes, and healthcare providers must be aware of these realities.  It’s essential that we confront these issues honestly, reflect on our role in addressing them, and most importantly, listen — really listen — to the communities we serve.

Connecticut hospitals remain steadfast in their commitment to working with partners across the state to drive meaningful change and improve health outcomes for every person and community for which they care.
