Thousands in Connecticut will now see boost in Social Security

HARTFORD, Conn. — In one of his last acts as leader of the United States, President Joe Biden signed off on the Social Security Fairness Act.

“A job is about a lot more than a paycheck, it’s about your dignity, it’s about respect, it’s about your place in the community,” said Biden on Sunday.

The move cancels out two policies which are said to have made it hard for public servants like teachers, nurses and firefighters to get all of their Social Security benefits once they retire.
