CHA Statement on Governor’s State of the State Address and Budget Adjustment Proposal

February 7, 2024

WALLINGFORD – The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) released the following statement in response to Governor Ned Lamont’s 2024 State of the State Address and proposed FY 2025 state budget adjustments:

“Connecticut hospitals are excited to continue our work with lawmakers as they kick off the legislative session. We will continue our focus on protecting and expanding the healthcare workforce, improving patient access through improvements to the state’s Certificate of Need process, and advocating for fair Medicaid payments to support critical healthcare services. We appreciate the Governor’s continued focus on workforce needs but we are disappointed that the administration continues to focus on punitive measures to address healthcare affordability while delaying action on addressing the roles chronic Medicaid underpayment and a broken Certificate of Need system play in undermining our state’s healthcare system.”
