Patient Census Report
CHA Members, login for members-only information.
Separate from the administrative discharge data, CHA Data Services collects summary statistics for the Patient Census Report (PCR) from acute care hospitals, private psychiatric hospitals, and rehabilitation hospitals on inpatient admissions and certain outpatient services. The PCR is used by hospitals to monitor utilization and compare activity across institutions.
A monthly report, which contains utilization trends in inpatient and certain outpatient services, is sent to participating members of acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and rehabilitation hospitals. Hospitals report monthly summary statistics on admissions and days for adult medical-surgical, pediatric, maternity, neonatal, psychiatric, and rehabilitation services. Hospitals also report summary statistics for certain outpatient services such as ED, ambulatory surgery, gastroenterology, chemotherapy, outpatient psychiatry, cardiac rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, primary care, radiation therapy, and diagnostic imaging.
